Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti was an established academic when he decided to change his life completely to follow his grandfather’s dream. Together with his wife Marcella they decided to invest all their energy, knowledge and passion to give a new life to Gerardo’s grandfather’s vineyards. Viticulture was a family passion, a tradition which has been handed down from father to son until today. Gerardo inherited the passion and the vineyards from his grandfather, from his father who was a solicitor, the perseverance and respect for ancient traditions. Combining the old with innovations and a good dose of passion along with his viticultural background he made Cantine del Notaio into a perfect expression of Vulture terroir. His Aglianico, with its elegant and powerful taste is no longer considered as a wine for blends but as a great wine even yet underestimated.   I really enjoyed it by the way!
