One with the sea.

Rinaldo is a real seafarer, you can tell by the way he looks at the sea and it doesn’t matter if it is stormy, rough, or nice and calm; he simply loves it.

The Trabucco is almost an extension of his body. He knows every part of it, he understands its movements and its strength. Seeing Rinaldo climbing on the support rail above the sea with such ease and grace really struck me how he is one with the ocean. On first impression, he can appear shy and reserved but his kindness and hospitality were far beyond my expectations. He and his wife Maria were happy to share their passion for traditional fishing and indulging in the local cuisine. They made a superb “Brodetto” (fish soup) that I’ll never forget!
